What does the Smart Matcher do?
By analyzing your press release, we can help you find the relevant journalists. When using the Smart Matcher, we compare your press release with recently published articles and show you the most relevant journalists for your press release, who you can then add to your recipient list.
How to use the Smart Matcher
You can find the Smart Matcher in the Edit mailing menu.
Click Suggest Recipients to start the Smart Matcher. We first ask you to agree to share your press release with OpenAI. At the end of this article you can read more about how this data is used.
After you agree, your press release will be compared with previously published articles. When we find a match between your press release and a journalist's previous articles, we'll suggest the journalist to you. Click Add to add the contact to your recipient list. Click Skip if you find the contact irrelevant.
N.B. We automatically deduplicate the contacts in your recipient list. When you add a journalist who is already in your address book, you don't have to worry about your press release being sent to that contact twice.
What data is used?
To find a match between your press release and the portfolio of a journalist, we create a technical representation of your press release. To generate this representation, the content of your press release is sent to OpenAI. All text in the press release, including the boilerplate, is processed by an OpenAI API endpoint.
How does OpenAI handle this data?
OpenAI has a strict privacy policy regarding the data used in their API endpoint. Their Enterprise Privacy Statement describes how OpenAI handles and secures the data. There is a strong emphasis on protecting the privacy of users. The statement provides guidelines for collecting necessary data only, using encryption technologies, and implementing security measures to safeguard the confidentiality and integrity of the data. This way, OpenAI complies with relevant data protection laws and regulations. The data provided by Smart Matcher (your press release) is not used for training data models.
