Why is the use of cross-selections so important?Ā

By using cross-selections you can target your search and only contacts that are really relevant for your specific news will be shown. When you use these contacts for your press release, it is very likely that they are interested in your campaign and that they will write about it or publish it. Therefore, this way is completely different from a scattergun approach.

This is part of the search function in the Journalist database. When you, for example, select two topic lists, only the contacts that appear in both topics will be shown in the center column. The app has created a so-called cross-selection. This cross-selection allows you to target the right journalists for the right topics. We will take you through one step-for-step.

How do you make a cross-selection?

Open the subject filter to make a cross-selection of two or more topics. Search for the topics and check them, for example, Economy and Sustainability. Make sure that at the bottom of the menu, it says Contacts should match ALL of the selected subjects. If it says ANY, you're making an addition.
