Step 1: Creating the newsroom
Click on Create your first newsroom, and give your newsroom a name.
NB: Want to edit an existing newsroom? Click on the gearwheel icon at the top right of the left column. To edit another newsroom, click on the name of the newsroom.
Step 2: Settings and layout
You directly enter the newsroom manager. At the top, you’ll find five tabs:
General
Here you will find the name of the newsroom you saved in the previous step. You can adjust this if needed.
You can also create a subdomain for your newsroom. We generate a default subdomain, but we recommend personalizing it to something like your organization's name.
Thirdly, you can choose the language settings for your meta data, such as dates and the "Read more" buttons.
At the very top, you'll see the status of the newsroom: draft or published. Click Publish to make your newsroom live. You can also create stories first before publishing the newsroom.
As you scroll down, you will find several fields where you can enter information about your organization. Everything you fill in here, will appear in the boilerplate of your newsroom. The logo will appear in the header.
Design
In this tab, you set the formatting for your newsroom. On the left, you can see how your newsroom will look, and on the right, you can choose the desired formatting. Want to know more about the formatting options? Read this article.
Categories
Categories make it easy to distinguish and group different types of news. Create your categories in this menu. When creating a story, you can then assign it to one of these categories in the newsroom.
Presskits
Here, you create the press kits, allowing visitors to easily find media content and news about your organization. Want to know more about Presskits? Read this article.
Custom domains
Would you like to use a custom domain instead of the subdomain set in the General tab? You can. Contact our support team via chat, at support@smart.pr, or by calling 020 751 66 29
