Click the + icon at the top of the right column to create a new story. There are two options:

Start from Scratch

You start with a blank story that you can fully customize. Start with a title, after you’ll go directly into the editor.

In the editor, you’ll see two tabs on the right: Content and Settings. Start by creating the content.

The middle column is the story workspace. Some elements are already in place:

  • Option to select a category. Learn more about categories in this article.

  • The title

  • An option to set the date

  • An option to set an author

  • A block for the introduction of your story on the homepage of the newsroom

  • A block to set the cover image, which will be visible as a preview in the newsroom

  • An initial text block. On the right, you can choose it this should be a paragraph (P) or a subtitle (H2 or H3).

Adding New Blocks

When you click on the text block, you can add new blocks using the + icon. Choose between:

  • Paragraph

  • Subtitle H2

  • Subtitle H3

  • Image

Moving or Deleting Blocks

By clicking on a block, you can move or delete it.

Adding Images

Upload images through the file manager. In the file manager, click Upload in the top-left corner to add images from your computer. If you’re using the PRO Editor, you’ll also see any images previously uploaded for press releases.

Once you’re satisfied with the content, go to Settings. Here, you can edit the category, title, author, date, introduction and cover image and change the slug if so desired. The slug is the last part of the URL.

From Mailing

This option lets you directly import one of your Smart.pr press releases to the newsroom, whether it’s a draft, or already sent. Find the desired message in the list and click Create story.

You’ll then enter the editor, where you can make any adjustments to the story. Note that the layout may differ from the press release, especially if it was created in the PRO Editor. Therefore, always check the story in the editor and make adjustments if needed. You can also adjust the settings as described above.

Publishing the Story

When you’re ready, click Save at the top right. By clicking Done Editing, you'll return to the overview on the Newsroom tab in Smart.pr. Ready to set your story live? Click Publish on the right.
