Drafting a new press release can be done by creating a new mailing. Click on the plus icon on the mailings tab.

You follow the steps in the menu that appears, and can arrange the following matters: Add a subject line; choose a sender; create content; add recipients; create a web version; send a test e-mail; enable or disable click tracking. You will also find a preview of your press release here.

Create / Edit content

Click on Create content to draft the press release. While drafting your press release, you can save your work at any time by clicking the 'save' button, so your work is never lost. Are you satisfied with your press release? Then click the 'Done editing' button at the top right of the screen. You will then be taken to the overview menu of the mailing.

Adding content
By hovering the mouse over the text, a button with a plus sign appears at the bottom left. When you click on it, a toolbar will appear with which you can add blocks of text, (sub) headers, images and attachments. To insert text, click on Text (the 'T' icon). After this, a white field will appear in the press release in which you can type or paste your text. When pasting text from another editor, make sure to do so without formatting. In this article you can read why and how to do so.

Editing text

You can find a toolbar to edit your text at top of your screen. The options are: bold, italic and underline. It is also possible to insert a hyperlink via 'link'. You can draw up lists with numbers (list) or bullet points (ordered list) in front of it.

Do you want to paste an image into a piece of text? Then you can easily split the text at the desired place by moving your mouse to the desired position and clicking on split block. You can now add a new block and insert an image between the two text blocks.

Via the three icons on the right side of the toolbar, you can place the text to the left, in the center or to the right. It is not possible to justify text in Smart.pr. We do this for a reason: this function is very unpredictable. We want to make sure that your press release is displayed correctly on every computer, tablet and mobile phone - regardless of which email program the recipient uses.

Move and delete content

All blocks in the message can be moved. Do you prefer to place a text block above an image instead of below it, or do you want to insert an extra paragraph? The blocks can be easily moved up or down using the arrows to the right of the block. You can delete a block with the trash can icon. You can insert as many of blocks as you wish.

Images and attachments

It is possible to add images and attachments to your press release. The linked articles explain exactly how to add images and attachments.
